Portland, OR – The Northwest Baseball Coaches Association announced the 2026 NWBCA College Classic, slated for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex (RORC) in Ridgefield, WA. This exciting new event brings high-level NCAA Division I baseball to southwest Washington, featuring a marquee matchup between the University of Washington and the University of Portland.
Last season, the Washington Huskies enjoyed a solid campaign under head coach Eddie Smith in their first year as members of the B1G. Washington finished 29-28 overall and finished 5th in conference, and looks to be competitive again with a young core returning.
The Portland Pilots also come off a standout 2025 season. Portland posted a program-record 37-19 overall mark, including a 19-5 West Coast Conference record and berth in the WCC championship game, the Pilots’ third straight 30-win campaign.
“We’re thrilled to bring this level of college baseball to the Ridgefield community,” said Gus Farah, GM of the Ridgefield Raptors, majority partners of the NWBCA. “The College Classic reflects our mission to promote the game in Southwest Washington and provide coaches, players, and our fans with a unique and memorable experience.”
The RORC will serve as an ideal backdrop for what promises to become a signature baseball event in the Pacific Northwest as the NWBCA College Classic aims to establish a new tradition that unites baseball communities throughout the region.
