Portland, OR – The Northwest Baseball Coaches Association (NWBCA) is thrilled to announceAndy McKay, Vice President/Assistant General Manager of the Seattle Mariners, as its headline speaker at the 2025 NWBCA Convention. McKay will deliver a keynote address during the event’s Saturday Dinner, presented by the West Coast League, on January 25, 2025.
McKay was recently elevated to his new role as Vice President, Assistant General Manager. He will continue to oversee baseball development at all levels within the Mariners organization. This includes player and staff development, mental skills and education programs, as well as advising President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto and Executive VP & General Manager Justin Hollander on roster building. Additionally, McKay plays a pivotal role in the installation of Seattle’s systems and programs throughout all levels of the organization.
Under his leadership, the Mariners farm system was ranked No. 2 across Major League Baseball in 2022. The organization has produced two American League Rookie of the Year winners since 2020—Kyle Lewis in 2020 and Julio Rodríguez in 2022.
McKay originally joined the Mariners in 2015 as Director of Player Development after spending four years in the Colorado Rockies Minor League system. Prior to his professional baseball career, McKay served as the head coach at Sacramento City College from 1999 to 2012. During his 14 seasons at the helm, he built one of the most successful junior college programs in the country, earning a reputation for his innovative approach to player development and mental skills training.

The 2025 NWBCA Convention will be held January 24-26 at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel in Portland, Oregon. This annual event brings together baseball coaches from all levels to learn, share, and network.
